The Parliamentary Committee on Works and Housing has carried out an inspection of the Dansoman Sea Defence Project, Phase II, as part of efforts to assess progress on ongoing coastal protection works in the area.
The project, which is being executed under the supervision of the Ministry of Works and Housing, is designed to protect hundreds of homes and safeguard the livelihoods of thousands of residents living along the Dansoman coastline.
Over the years, tidal waves have wreaked significant havoc on properties in the area, displacing several residents and destroying valuable assets.
The sea defence project, when completed, is expected to serve as a crucial barrier against coastal erosion and flooding, providing much-needed relief to affected communities.
Members of the Committee, led by its Chairperson, expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far, while urging the contractors to maintain high standards and adhere to the project timelines.
