Ahmed Toure

World football governing body, FIFA, has ordered Ghana Premier League club, Medeama SC to pay former player, Ahmed Toure, over GHC 100,000 for breach of contract, Joy Sports has gathered.

Part of that money, per a FIFA document available to Joy Sports, dated January 30, 2023, passed on January 25, 2023, by sole judge, Dana Al-Noaimi, said is outstanding remuneration which totalled GHC 60,900 while the remainder, GHC 40,600 is compensation for a breach of contract.

Medeama must complete full payment within 45 days or face sanctions from registering players locally and internationally.

"Pursuant to art. 24 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, if full payment (including all applicable interest) is not made within 45 days of notification of this decision, the following consequences shall apply:

"1. The Respondent [Medeama] shall be banned from registering any new players, either nationally or internationally, up until the due amount is paid. The maximum duration of the ban shall be of up to three entire and consecutive registration periods.

"2. The present matter shall be submitted, upon request, to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee if full payment (including all applicable interest) is still not made by the end of the three entire and consecutive registration periods."

Toure joined Medeama in February 2021 but was suspended for a week and fined GHC 1,500 for alleged gross undisciplined towards coach Umar Rabi.

He dragged the club to FIFA for ill-treatment and the club has been ordered to make the payment or face a transfer ban.
