The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, Mr Paul C. Appiah-Ofori has added his voice to the call on Ghanaians to ensure that the peace that the country is enjoying is not disrupted.
He said irrespective of “our political, ethnic and religious affiliations, we must not forget that we are one people with one destiny”.
Mr Appiah-Ofori who is also the NPP Parliamentary candidate for the area in the 2008 general elections said this when he addressed a rally at Breman Fosuansa to canvas for votes.
He urged the people to retain him in parliament and the NPP government in the December elections.
He urged members of the party to forget the past and intensify their campaign to win more supporters for the party.
Mr Appiah-Ofori advised the members not to involve themselves in any acts that will bring the name of the party into disrepute, adding that “we must avoid the use of abusive language during out campaign”.
He disclosed that he has spent 5,220 Ghana Cedis from his common fund to supplement the promotion of education in the area.
He said a 50,000 US dollar factory has been established at Amanfopong to process (chilli) pepper for local consumption and export, and appealed to the people to grow more pepper to feed it.
Mr Emmanuel Adjei Domson, District Chief Executive for the area urged members of the party to see themselves as brethren and campaign vigorously towards the victory of the party in December.
He said the government under President John Agyekum Kufuor has initiated programmes that have brought dramatic improvement in the country.
The DCE urged Ghanaians to retain the party in power to continue with its good and prudent policies and programmes towards the development of the country.
