Reverend Ben Ampeah-Badu, Effiduase District Pastor of the Church of Pentecost in New Juaben Municipality on Monday denied a media report quoting him as saying ”Ghana is sitting on a time bomb”.
He said his Easter message, which was reported by the Ghana News Agency was incorrect.
Rev Ampeah-Badu said his sermon, which centred on “Freedom in Christ Jesus”, explained that the first President Dr Kwame Nkrumah won freedom for Ghana from the colonial masters whilst the death of Jesus Christ on the cross brought Ghana freedom from the bondage of sin.
“Therefore as Christians we should be steadfast in our freedom we have in the Lord. As Ghanaians we should also appreciate our freedom. This freedom should be protected by all and sundry and I urged all the church members to register for the upcoming December elections.
“I never said anywhere in the sermon which was in Twi with very minimal use of the English language that our dear nation is sitting on a time bomb,” Rev Ampeah-Badu stressed.
