Successive governments have embarked on a conscious drive to digitize the Ghanaian economy.
This initiative is being undertaken to promote efficiency in, and coverage of, government business and service delivery in all areas, especially, education, health, judicial and parliamentary services, through the use of Information Communication Technologies (ICT).
Also, following the recent attacks on bullion vans in the country, there have been calls by Ghanaians for a move towards cash-lite systems of transaction.
