The People’s National Convention (PNC) and the Convention People’s Party (CPP) in the Northern Region have decided to combine their efforts in the 2012 elections, to get more representatives with the needs of the north at heart, to represent the region in parliament during the 2013 to 2017 term.
This will be the case at the parliamentary level in the Northern Region whether the two parties attain their long-term goal of merging into one party materialises or not.
Mr Abdul Razaak, Northern Regional Youth Organiser of the PNC revealed the strategy which he said would give the people of the north the best representation ever in parliament.
He was presenting the PNC’s solidarity message on Saturday, at the Tamale Sports Stadium, where the Northern Regional branch of the CPP held a regional delegates conference to elect officers to manage affairs of the party in the region in the next four years.
The PNC youth organiser stressed the need for strong collaboration between and among all the Nkrumaists parties without conditions.
“Unity is our goal. We must be seen to be united even if it is for our mutual electoral advantage,” he assured.
He said the probability of the PNC and CPP forming the next government was very high, as the NDC and NPP who had managed affairs of the country for the past 20 years would be rejected by the electorate at the 2012 polls.
Mr Abdul Razaak called on Ghanaians to give the PNC and CPP the opportunity to govern the country again for the accelerated development that the nation needs.
Regional representatives from the NDC and NPP in their good will messages called for peace and tolerance among all political parties in the region and the nation as a whole.
