Three persons have been arrested to assist the Tamale Police over the death of a 7 month-old baby who reportedly died during a scuffle among the suspects.
Joy News’ Northern regional correspondent, Martina Bugri reports that the three; Rukayah Ibrahim, Abdul Razak Ibrahim and Latifah Ibrahim have been picked up to assist the region’s Domestic Violence and Victim’s Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Police in investigations into the baby’s death.
Martina Bugri reports that eyewitnesses have said Razak was carrying the little boy when he engaged Rukayah in a scuffle. In the process, the baby fell on the ground.
Undaunted, they continued fighting until they were separated. When their attention was drawn to the baby, he was dead. Without lodging a complaint with the police, they buried the baby boy.
Upon a tip off however, DOVVSU sought an order of inquest to determine the cause of death of the little boy. Subsequently, the mother of the boy, Latifah Ibrahim was picked up for her role in the death of her son.
According to the Northern regional Coordinator of DOVVSU, ASP Emmanuel Hollatsu, investigations are on-going. He also gave the assurance that his outfit would get to the bottom of the matter.
