A 60-year-old man has been allegedly murdered by unknown persons along the Avenorpeme-Hatorgodo road near Abor in the Anlo District of the Volta Region.
The Abor District police received a report of the discovery of the body of one Korku Gbago, a corn miller, on Monday, March 21, 2022.
“Police proceeded to the crime scene and met his lifeless body almost in a decomposing state lying in a supine position with his bicycle parked about five meters away from him”, Head of the Volta Regional Police Public Affairs Unit, DSP Efia Tenge, said in a press statement.
“An inspection on the body shows one of his fingers chopped off, with a deep cut at the occiput area. The crime scene was re-constructed and the body was conveyed to Sacred Heart Hospital Abor/Weme morgue for preservation pending autopsy”, it further stated.
The Police has begun an investigation into the case to establish circumstances surrounding the death of the sexagenarian.
“Police appeal to the general public to kindly volunteer reliable information to the Abor Police as the investigation continues to arrest persons behind this dastardly act”, the statement concluded.
