Police in the Western Region have captured one of the convicted armed robbers who escaped from the Sekondi Prisons, bringing the number of the recaptured prisoners to six.
Ten prisoners escaped from the prison last Sunday, but five were rearrested almost immediately.
The security agencies have been on high alert for the remaining five.
Western Regional police commander DCOP Hamidu Mahama tells Joy News one more person was apprehended Wednesday night.
The jail breaker, Issah Mohammed a.k.a Fulani, a Malian, was arrested in Piposo in the Western Region.
Narrating the circumstances under which he was arrested, DCOP Mahama said the youth were suspicious when they saw him and therefore decided to question him, but he took to his heels.
According to the police commander he was arrested in the Pra river where he took refuge.
He was later identified by the Sekondi prison officials and is now back in custody.
