Franklin Etsey Ngorli, an accountant is being sought by the Agbozume police for allegedly bolting with an amount of GH¢40,000 belonging to his employers, Omega Complex Hotel and DICKMAFLE Enterprise, two subsidiaries at Agbozume.
Mr Dickson Agbemafle, Managing Director of the companies, told the Ghana News Agency that Ngorli, a product of the Ho Polytechnic, was employed by the Hotel Complex from December 2008 to July 2009 in charge of the accounts department.
He said sometime in July 2009 the management, suspicious of the activities of Ngorli, called for an audit of the Hotel's account which revealed that GH¢17,400 made up mainly of lodging and restaurant proceeds was misappropriated by the suspect.
Mr Agbemafle said the suspect admitted the crime and the Hotel management accepted his plea to be allowed sometime to repay the stolen money.
He was subsequently redeployed to DICKMAFLE Enterprise, a micro financing portfolio on August 1, 2009, to assist in the lending of credit to clients.
Mr. Agbemafle said Ngorli called for various amounts of money totalling GH¢ 36,193.24 between March 3 to 19 this year but unknowingly lent out only GH¢ 8,810.00 and pocketed the GH¢27,383.24 balance including some pay-offs.
At the end of March this year, he said the suspect presented his end of month accounts but before management could detect the anomaly, Ngorli absconded.
A bench warrant No. 072010 dated April 27 this year, has since been issued by an Aflao circuit court presided over by Mr. Francis Obiri for the arrest of Ngorli, a native of Agbozume.
