A suspected murderer who escaped from police custody while on trial has been re-arrested by police in Kumasi.
Four months ago, Prince Adu Gyamfi, also known as Naaku, escaped from a police escort after court hearing.
The 22 year old suspect was on trial in connection with the killing of a security man last year at Ashfood Court Hotel at Bantama.
He was picked up Tuesday night from his hide-out at Plaza Hotel at Dichemso, in a special operation.
Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Augustine Gyening, says police had picked Adu Gyamfi’s girlfriend who was in constant touch with him after the escape.
Following her arrest, police intelligence indicated the fugitive’s gang planned to break into her cell and free her.
Subsequently, members of the gang were busted Tuesday night at Patasi.
Prince Adu Gyamfi was arrested with two teenagers during the raid.
They include 17 year- old Augustus Manu, a second-year Agricultural Science student of Osei Tutu Senior High School and 19 year old Rufai Adams.
