Twenty-four people arrested on Wednesday for participating in a demonstration against the US/NATO bombings in Libya have been released by the Police.
The suspects were released after they were given caution statements
A coalition of civil society group comprising some CPP youth, members of the Socialist forum and the All African Revolutionary Party chose Dr Kwame Nkumah’s birthday for the demonstration because he stood against imperialists.
The group clashed with the police as it tried to stop them but they were eventually dispersed when tear gas were fired. One of the leaders of the group, Ernest Yeboah told Joy News some of his colleagues got injured.
He expressed dismay at the assault by the police but said it will not deter them from going ahead with their stance against what he calls, the injustice in Libya
