The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has released about thirty persons it picked up at Kotoka Airport during a protest on Monday.
They are members of the Ghana Palestine Solidarity Campaign who were at the airport to register their displeasure at the visit of the Deputy Israeli Prime minister, Avigdor Lieberman.
The group had asked government to cancel Mr. Lieberman’s visit because he allegedly made racist comments and that his visit would send wrong signals about the country’s foreign policy.
But President Mills went ahead to host him.
Yao Graham, a leading member of the group, told Joy News the 30 were released after a brief interrogation by the Police.
Mr Lieberman was in the country as part of an eight-day official tour of five African countries, including Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda.
He was accompanied by a high level delegation comprising senior officials and businessmen.
The Israeli minister also signed a cooperation agreement with his Ghanaian counterparts in the area of aquaculture.
