The Police will close some major roads on Tuesday when ECOWAS leaders converge in Accra for the 47^th Ordinary session.

In a statement issued by the Ghana Police service, it said the Liberation Road will be partitioned to allow traffic only at various times during the day.

The 47^th ordinary session will discuss elections in member countries, security related matters and the handling of the Ebola crisis.

The Police Service wishes to inform the general public that, owing to the ECOWAS Summit scheduled to take place in Accra tomorrow Tuesday, 19^th May 2015, the following road traffic arrangement has been made for the Tuesday 19^th May:

The Liberation Road from Accra towards Tetteh Quashie Interchange will be partitioned into two with traffic from Accra using the outer lane and the dignitaries taking the inner, from 6am to 2pm. After 2pm the arrangement will shift to the other lane from Opeibea House to AU Circle, with motorists plying the outer lane and dignitaries using the inner.

Traffic Police will be deployed at vantage points to assist road users. Meanwhile, the Police wishes to assure the public that adequate security arrangement has been made to ensure a successful summit. The public is also entreated to co-operate with the Police for the success of the event.
