Police in Tema say they are set to prosecute the truck driver whose negligence led to the accident that killed two individuals on the Tema-Aflao road, Sunday evening.
Two rocks fell from the load that the truck was carrying and crushed a BMW car killing two out of the three occupants.
Charges including “insecure loading” will be leveled against the driver who was carting rocks from Shai Hills to the Tema Port, authorities tell Joy News.

Tema Regional Commander for the Motor Transport Traffic Department (MTTD), Chief Supt. Joseph Owusu Bempah says that the driver who had failed to report to the police, has been arrested and is being prepared for court.
“I sent my men to go and bring him, so we will take him to court and hear what the court will say”, he told Joy News in an interview.
Meanwhile, Chief Supt. Owusu Bempah says police will engage Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) over the nuisance being caused by cattle in the metropolis.
According to him, a driver stopped to allow cattle cross the road forcing other drivers to also stop and this was said to have contributed to the accident.

He said an attempt by the truck driver to avoid running into the BMW led to the accident.
In the meantime, the carting company has been ordered by the police to stall their operations in respect to the deceased.
