An opinion poll conducted by the Daily Dispatch newspaper in July this year gives the ruling NPP the lead in the 2008 elections.
But the elections, according to the survey would be concluded in a second round.
According to the polls, the NPP will get 48.9 percent of the votes whilst its closest rival the NDC will come second with 40.6 percent.
The poll comes at the time the NPP is yet to elect a presidential candidate.
Speaking to Joy News’ Matilda Asante, Ben Ephson said this survey is a series of polls the newspaper is to conduct before the end of the year.
He said they took a general opinion poll among 70% of registered voters through out the country.
According to Mr. Ephson, it is his view that the voters took into account President Kofuor and Prof. Atta-Mills, adding that it was like a mini re-run of the 2004 elections.
