The Vlisco x Poqua Poqu: the Capsule Collection featuring cutting edge designs tailored exclusively for the Ghanaian market has been released t the Vlisco Boutique at the Accra Mall.
For this installment, Vlisco, the leading African textile manufacturer, teams up with another premium Ghanaian designer known for creating fashion indicative of African heritage, laced with inspirations from around the world.
The ten-piece collection exclusively features fabrics from Vlisco’s latest innovative line, ‘Bright & Beautiful’ which is influenced by the swinging 60s with bright colours and beautiful designs.
“We knew Poqua Poqu would be well equipped to interpret the sassy mix of 60’s shapes, layers of woven patterns and the rainbow of candy colours in this collection. And she has delivered a capsule collection that stays true to celebrating sophisticated, accomplished women who aren’t afraid to showcase their individuality,” said Vlisco Marketing Director Stephen Badu.

Poqua has built her label around the philosophy of the modern woman who interprets their style through pieces that are minimalist, timeless and functional while maintaining a consistent customer experience.
She has built a reputation for wide-ranging product offerings and designs tailored for varied body types, as well as impeccable quality control and a passion for the sustainability of local industry and youth empowerment, which she works towards through her internship program.
Poqua designed the capsule collection to suggest optimism and celebrate life through unique silhouettes that emphasize the lines and curves found in the female figure.

“The collection is an impressive fusion of soft curves and geometric patterns that create a characteristic 3D effect,” said Poqua Poqu founder and designer of the fashion label.
We are especially excited about the prints we worked with as they feature bright, bold and vibrant colors as well as shapes that make a true statement.”
The collection will be displayed on mannequins throughout the Vlisco Boutique from June to August 2016 and customers who are captivated by the designs are invited to work with Poqua Poqu to re-create the styles in customized outfits tailored to their needs.
