A team of OdadeÔ‘ (Presbyterian Old Boys Association) walloped their Mfantsipim counterparts (MOBA) in an 111/2-81/2 win for ODADE3 at the Tema Country Golf Club held on May Day, 2017.
The competition which was hosted by MOBA, was a much-anticipated one for the PRESEC boys as this was their inaugural inter-schools golf competition.
The PRESEC Old Boys were outstanding in their performance and it was not surprising to see them wallop the MOBA team.
The OdadeÔ‘ team displayed amazing skills and they were a delight to watch.
Commenting on the outstanding performance of their team, Michael Darko of OdadeÔ‘ 93/95 who acted as Competition Secretary for the Odade3 side said, “We were just happy to have put a golf team together finally. We channeled that positive energy to the golf course. The trophy was also donated by OdadeÔ‘ Mike Nyinaku of the BEIGE Group so we are happy to have retained it”.
The classic encounter saw the game of golf at its best as stalwarts like Mike Aggrey (Captain, MOBA) and Smyly Bannerman of the MOBA team pitch against Frank Adu (Captain, OdadeÔ‘) and Michael Darko of the OdadeÔ‘ team.
A return encounter for this match has been slated for October 2017 and team OdadeÔ‘ has vowed to retain the trophy.
Team OdadeÔ‘ has thrown a challenge to ADISCO and AUGUSCO to meet them if they consider themselves worthy opponents in the inter-schools golfing league.
The games are organized in the spirit of promoting the game of golf among Corporate Ghana as well as with the ultimate objective of introducing golf to the youth as a sport worth considering at an early stage in life.
The team members for the OdadeÔ‘ squad were: Frank Adu, Mawuli Ababio, Nana Darkwa, Rene Gameli-Kwame, Edem Oshew, Alex Fiagome, Kwasi Asiedu, Michael Darko, Kofi Adjei, Ben Adu-Owusu, Kwame Djan, Matthias Dorfe,Naustadtt, Jonatham Ankrah, YokuKorsah, Nii Odoi, Michael Oben Appiah, Boris (Associate), Muyiwa (Associate), Charles Ofori(Associate) and Supporting Pastor (Rev.
