President Mills has ordered investigations into the fire that razed down the offices of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The fire which raged for hours before fire fighters managed to control it destroyed everything except the first and sixth floors of the ten-storey building Wednesday evening.
Speaking to journalists after a tour of the site, the President said the investigation was meant to establish the cause of the fire in order to enable the authorities prevent a recurrence.
“I am not interested in scapegoats; I am not interested in witch-hunting. I am only interested in the truth and once the truth is unearthed we will know how to deal with cases of this nature,” he noted.
President Mills also noted that the investigations will also “give us the capacity to plan to avoid incidents of this nature.”
“We should be forward looking to plan against such eventualities,” he cautioned.
