The Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission, Mr PV Obeng has condemned the incoherent implementation of development projects by successive governments.
He said the current situation where new governments effectively truncate projects initiated under their predecessors was inimical to the forward march of the country.
Mr PV Obeng was addressing a forum orgnaised by Joy FM in collaboration with the Coconut Groove Hotel in Accra on Building Consensus on National Development Agenda.
He has consequently submitted a proposal to the Constitution Review Commission for a constitutional provision that will insulate development planning from political interference.
The National Women Organiser of the opposition NPP, Otiko Djaba, agreed.
She however said the wanton vilification of projects by agents and leaders of political parties makes it difficult to build consensus on project continuity.
Dr Kwaku Danso of the Ghana Leadership Union said Ghana must have a National Development agenda that transcends political and generational borders.
He insisted that such a development agenda must be selfless and implemented with keen interest.
