PZ Cussons Ghana Limited, a leading producer and distributor of personal and homecare products, has donated large consignment of healthcare products valued at GH₵30,000.00 to the Amasaman District Hospital in Accra.
The items which included several boxes of Robb Cough Mixture, Carex Hand Gel and Camel Antiseptic Liquid, were meant for the use and care of patients on admission at the hospital.
Presenting the products to the hospital, the Head of Brand Development and Activation at PZ Cussons Ghana, Madam Hafsa Arthur, said the donation was the first among several others to be made to the hospital.
She noted that similar donations and support had been made to hospitals across the country, citing the immediate past donation to the Mother and Baby Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, which was in response to a Joy FM report on the plight of babies at the hospital.
According to Madam Hafsa Arthur, these donations align with a rolled out programme of providing medical resources to healthcare providers and patients.
Apart from the donations, PZ Cussons Ghana has partnered with the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) to educate and sensitize health professionals and patients on various health issues.
“In line with our corporate mission of improving the lives of our consumers, PZ Cussons Ghana believes this kind gesture will help alleviate challenges the hospital is facing on daily basis, and also go a long way to save lives and put smiles on faces,” she said.
Madam Hafsa Arthur commended the management and staff of the Amasaman District Hospital for their hard work and dedication to provide better healthcare to patients at the hospital. She urged them to make good use of the products while reiterating the commitment of PZ Cussons Ghana to build a fruitful relationship that would help find solutions to challenges faced by the hospital.
Appreciation
Dr. Sarpong Ntiamoah, a Medical Superintendent, who received the items on behalf of the hospital, was grateful to PZ Cussons Ghana for the donation.
He expressed his profound gratitude to PZ Cussons Ghana for honouring their promise, a gesture he said would lead to infection prevention.
Dr. Ntiamoah gave the assurance that the hospital would put the items to good use in order to assuage the incidence of the spread of infection among caregivers and patients in the hospital.
He lauded PZ Cussons Ghana for the gesture and called on other corporate bodies, individuals and groups, to commit to contributing to the cause of improving and saving lives.
