Ghanaian striker, Kwame Quansah, has earned his debut Black Stars call-up for next week's international friendly against South Africa on October 15.
The Heracles Almelo forward will be seeking to impress head coach Rajevac Milovan for a slot in the Stars set-up should they qualify for the next round of the 2010 qualifiers.
The 25-year-old entered the Ajax youth academy in 2000 and was almost immediately regarded as a major talent.
He made it to Young Ajax and even made his first team debut on 1 April 2001 in the Eredivisie away game at NEC.
Quansah was brought on in the 73rd minute, replacing fellow debutant Kiran Bechan.
New signings Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam and Zlatan Ibrahimovic kept Quansah out of the first squad in the 2001-2002 season.
With Young Ajax, however, the forward had an extremely successful season, winning the Dutch championship for reserves teams and making it to the semi-final of the 'big' Amstel Cup.
Quansah has scored 33 times in 179 competitions in the Dutch Eredivise. He has had loan spells with Belgian side Germinal Beerschot and Swedish side AIK Solna.
This season he has failed to find the back of the net in five games although Heracles are placed sixth on the league log.
