ReachOut World Mission (ROWM), a charity organisation, would hold its annual ‘Love Fair’ on December 12, 2015.
The Love Fair, which comes off at the Afua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra, is an open air fun event with the aim of sharing with the less privileged in society.
The event also aims at sensitizing the general public on the mutual benefits derived from engaging in charity campaigns.
The Love Fair would bring together the general public and the less privileged on one big platform filled with fun and exciting games in a planned environment to positively impact all attendees while they engage in shopping at setup stands.
Executive Director of Reachout World Mission, Ms. Priscilla Naa Aklerh Okantey, stated that, “the love fair will go a long way to benefit over one thousand children from seven charity organizations which have been selected from the Central, Greater Accra and Eastern regions of Ghana”.
The children from the selected charity organizations would undergo training and empowerment sessions prior to the love fair; the training process is referred to as the Love Journey. Some donations would be made to the children on the grounds of the Love Fair.
ReachOut World Mission is a charity and individual development organization founded on Christian values with an objective of giving back to the underprivileged in the society.
The organization is incorporated and duly registered under the company’s code of Ghana as a Non-Profit Organization.
To accomplish the long term goal of ROWM which is to build shelters throughout Africa for the homeless, ROWM has begun with the provision of love and financial support to needy populations. Since inception, the organization has undertaken seven projects in areas spanning from the Greater Accra Region, Eastern Region and the Brong Ahafo-Region.
Some projects undertaken by the Mission include a donation/fun day activity at Save Them Young Missions; a children’s home in Tema in January 2014, followed by a trip to the Brong-Ahafo Region to support two challenged children, Umaru and Maame Afua with wheel chairs and educational materials in March 2014.
In December 2014, the maiden edition of the The love fair was held at the Afua Sutherland Children park which impacted over 500 children from four charity organizations inAccra; Save Them Young, Potter’s Village, Osu Children’s home and Centre for street children.
Another successful event held by ROWM was the charity breakfast which saw the ReachOut team set camp at Adamorobe in the Eastern Region on Valentine’s Day, 14th February 2015 on a project to evangelise, feed and donate clothing to the whole township. 950 individuals both young and old were impacted.
The most recent of events was at Avenor on the July 1, 2015 as a response to help the flood victims of the June 3 Accra flooding. Through soliciting for funds from the public the organization was able to positively impact the lives of the inhabitants of Avenor.
ROWM says funding for projects is mostly internal through member dues and contributions. Public solicitation is done for major projects with over one thousand individual reach.
ROWM says donation in cash or kind to support the Love Fair is welcome.
