Three pupils have emerged winners at the National Readwide Awards in Kumasi.

The national read wide awards is an award scheme initiated by Dr. Robert Gyamfi. Dr Gyamfi is a medical doctor by profession and an author who has passion for writing story books.
The award ceremony featured schools like John Williams Montessori School, Palma International School, and Pentecost International School.
Others were Young Brilliant Generational School, Trinity Presby Model School and Global Educational Complex.
The main objective of the award is to encourage reading among the youth.
The children were required to “Write a letter to the Regional Minister telling him to take mad people off the streets to the rehabilitation centre.”
Mr. Sidney Tarrant, the Accra Project Director said that the award is for children who understand what they read.
“More importantly it’s to encourage the youth to read because it changes the paradigm for their opportunities.
“And the programme is designed so that we honour those kids who read with comprehension,” he said.
Regina Antwi, the first prize winner said that the award has opened her up to opportunities.
“The award has given me an opportunity to do more things that I didn’t dream of. And I also know that I can do better than this so I will always participate,” she said.
