Religious bodies and Government stakeholders are set to discuss implications of ‘The Companies Act 2019 and the Charities Bill’ at the ‘ERS’ in November.
New tax policies and details surrounding them are always a topic of great importance to well-meaning citizens.
The ‘Ekklesia Roundtable Series’(‘ERS’) is a Kingdom Equip Network (K.E.N.) initiative organized annually.
This year marks the fourth in the series and it’s being organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, the Registrar General’s Department and the Non-Profit Organizations Secretariat (MoGCSP) on the theme: ‘The Companies Act 2019 and the Charities Bill; Implications for Churches and Religious Organizations’.
‘ERS’ brings together stakeholders and experts in specific fields including; the clergy, the academia, media, and the general public, to build consensus on policy initiatives that enhance the governance of Churches and the nation as a whole.

In previous years, the ‘ERS’ has hosted speakers who have variedly led discussions on topical issues including Ace Ankomah for the debut edition.
He discussed the theme ‘The Legal Status of the Church in Ghana’. Apostle Prof. K. N. Opoku-Onyinah, Bishop Robert Aboagye-Mensah and Bishop Gordon Kisseih, Bishop Emmanuel L. Nterful, Rev. Dr. Dorothy BEA Akoto, Rev. Dr. Richard C. Whitcomb and, Rev. Wisdom Dafeamekpor, have all featured in subsequent editions of ERS and have tackled themes like, ‘Ministerial Accountability in the Church’ and ‘Transitions and Succession in the Ghanaian Church’
This year’s ‘ERS’ will feature analytical presentations and discussions of religious and national interest and participation from State Institutions [including the Ministry of Chieftaincy & Religious Affairs, and The Ghana Revenue Authority], Leaders and Representatives of key Church Umbrella Groups [such as; Christian Council of Ghana, Council for African Instituted Churches(CAIC), Ghana Pentecostal & Charismatic Council (GPCC), National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches (NACCC), National Catholic Bishops’ Conference, National Charismatic Bishops’ Conference, National Clergy Association of Ghana] and other esteemed churches and para-church institutions.
The 2021 Ekklesia Roundtable Series is scheduled to topically break down Institutional and Social Protection, New Tax Policies and Waivers, under the theme ‘The Companies Act 2019 and the Charities Bill; Implications for Churches and Religious Organizations’.
Members of the media and all stakeholders are welcome to converge at the Accra Ridge Church, Thursday, November 11, 2021 between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm
