Ghana’s youthful striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has told Joy Sports he is not expecting a call-up to the Black Stars anytime soon in spite of his sterling performance at club-side Genoa in Italy.
The 17-year-old has had four Serie A appearances for Genoa since gaining promotion to the senior side.
The former Bechem United attacker, who scored in his Serie A debut appearance for Genoa against Livorno last season, played a key role in the Black Satellites qualification to the 2011 Africa Youth Championship, scoring four goals in four games.
Many believe his presence in the Black Stars could improve the team’s scoring chances, but Richmond Boakye-Yiadom says he wants to concentrate on helping the Black Satellites to defend the continental title they won last year, adding he is not in a hurry to play for the senior side.
