Suspected armed robbers are said to have attacked the Tema branch of the United Bank for Africa and made away with an unspecified amount of money after killing a policeman and injuring a private security man.
Eye witnesses say the robbers fired at the security officers at post and proceeded to order bank staff to lie down.
The armed robbers were said to be nine with three motorbikes. A driver accessing the road at Narh Bita hospital was shot at through his car ostensibly for obstructing the armed robbers.
An eye witness of the robbery said police were at the crime scene to begin investigation.
