The CEO of Big Events Ghana, organizers of the Radio and Television (RTP) Awards, Ghana’s biggest media award platform, was in South Africa recently to participate in the prestigious MTN Radio Awards event.
The MTN Radio Awards which is in its 6th year was held on the April 12 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The visit was to give the RTP team the unique opportunity to participate in the awards night and to explore opportunities for collaborating with its South Africa counterpart.
Both the organizers of the MTN Radio Awards as well as the RTP Awards organizer seek to partner to develop their brands to their respective advantages and to the benefit of the broadcasting industry in both countries.
The CEO of RTP Awards in Ghana, Mr. Prince Emmanuel Mackay, in an interview said, “the visit was very key and strategic for us as we used the opportunity to advance discussions on key areas for possible collaboration."
Mr. Lance Rothschild, CEO of the MTN Radio Awards was happy to receive the team and to share his experiences in South Africa with them.
The meeting which took place at the historic Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton, saw both CEO’s identify some areas such as technical, managerial and most importantly cultural exchange programmes (a broadcasting personnel exchange programme which will enable experience sharing and enrich cultural diversity).
Mr. Mackay said,”The objective of this initiative is to help improve the RTP awards program and to further enhance the broadcasting landscape in Ghana.
“RTP has a lot in store for Ghanaian broadcasters and will continue to seek innovative ways of enhancing the event”, he added.
