Thousands of supporters and sympathizers of the Convention Peoples Party reportedly poured onto the streets of Wulensi in the Northern Region to welcome Dr Abu Sakara, the party's 2012 Presidential Candidate when he visited the Constituency as part of his national campaign tour.
People lined up on the streets about four hours ahead of Dr Sakara’s arrival.
Market Women, Shop owners and their attendants abandoned their businesses to come and welcome the CPP’s Presidential Candidate.
According to the CPP’s Communication Directorate, the entire township of Wulensi was thrown into a state of absolute exhilaration as the people entertained themselves with some sweet renditions of traditional music and the Convention People’s Party, “there is Victory for us”.
The enthusiastic crowd lined up on the entire Wulensi streets town to cheer Dr Sakara and to assure him of their unflinching support come December 7.
Dr Sakara on arrival called on the Chief of Wulensi and later addressed the people thanking them for the massive support given him and the Parliamentary Candidate for the Wulensi Constituency Mr Haruna Musah.
According to Dr Sakara, the gathering which was so large signifies victory for the Convention People’s Party on December 7 elections.
“This is more than a victory rally and it gives a strong indication of the strength and popularity of CPP to the People”, Dr Sakara stated.
He urged the people to continue to support the CPP and tasked them to bring onboard their relatives and friends for the Party to win the December elections.
He called on all party faithful to put in all their efforts to secure victory for the Convention People’s Party for the Country to take back its road to success and develop its human resource base for the ultimate goal, which is achieving economic emancipation.
Dr Sakara charged the CPP supporters to fight hard and preach the good message of the CPP to reach every electorate in the Country for them to choose the best Candidate who can lead Ghana adding “if that turns out the electorate will settle on the CPP which has a proven record of improving the lots of the Ghanaian.
He urged the rank and file of the party, as well as the leadership at all levels, to remain united than before because “in unity we shall surely win”.
Dr Sakara assured the people of Wulensi that the CPP Presidential and the Parliamentary Campaigns would be devoid of insults, attacks and name calling.
“We will speak the truth and nothing else, we will continue to tell the people what they need to know and we will continue to tell the people of what our achievements are and what we are offering to the Nation if given the nod to govern. We will not lie to them for anything, because we were not thought that.
“We will not do anything in this year’s elections to mar the peace and unity in the country,” Dr Sakara reiterated.
