One of the leading brands of the Multimedia Group Limited, Joy News, has been adjudged the Tourism Oriented Media of the Year (television category) at the 2018 Eastern Regional Tourism wards held in Koforidua.
The TV channel was presented with a certificate of excellence and a citation at the event that also saw some players of the hospitality industry picked different awards.
The citation accompanying the award praised Joy News for its excellent production on tourism and tourism-related issues in the Eastern Region.
The citation read "With a just a smartphone and a microphone your Eastern Regional reporter Edwin Kofi Siaw captured every single moment of the 2018 Eastern Regional Enforcement exercise of illegal operators in the hospitality sector. The eventual outcome of that excellent production, which was broadcasted on Joy Prime News bulletin, broke barriers and went beyond the boundaries of Ghana. The impact of this broadcast and the many other tourism stories broadcasted on your channel was phenomenal and inured to the benefit of tourism industry by impacting positively on the legal operations of most hospitality facilities in the region."
