Hearts of Oak Sergio Tranguil has rubbished claims he promised to win the league in his half season at the club.
The Portuguese trainer who replaced Japanese American Kenichi Yatsuhashi is treading cautiously after the Phobians received mixed results in their last three games.
Ahead of their crunch league tie against Aduana Stars, the Portuguese is unwilling to be drawn into talks of annexing the league trophy.
“I will not promise anything, the only thing I will promise is hard work and that is what I do everywhere I go and that is the only thing.”
“You will never hear from me that I promised to win the league because I am not here for that. I will only promise hard work because I don’t feel any pressure or responsibility because I am here to do my job."
The Phobians have been wasteful infront of goal in their last two outings but Sergio has resisted the temptation of giving special training to his players but rather focus on the collective effort,.
“We are trying to improve the team massively and it is not only the strikers because the strikers score goals but the midfielders creates and the defenders start the game so I am trying to improve all the players and the team and not the strikers only.”
Sergio Tranguil will take charge of their crunch encounter between Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in the week 18 fixtures of the Ghana Premier league.
