Fun, joy, merry-making and cheers accurately describe the atmosphere at the Silverbird foyer last weekend as many children gathered for a fun-packed experience at the Silverbird Kids’ Day. The occasion, as part of the various activities marking the first anniversary of the number one cinema complex in the country, certainly kick-started this year’s Christmas festivities for the children on a very good note.
Hundreds of children aged between 3 and 15 years gathered for a fun-filled day with interesting fun games and movies. The children also seized the opportunity to make new friends and share ideas about issues in their own unique world in their own way.
Face painting took a different twist as the kids designed their faces with their favourite cartoon characters such as Tom and Jerry, Spider Man etc.
The peak of the fun-packed day was, to many of the kids, the movie time. Between 11am – 6pm, the children had the opportunity to see as many great kids’ movies as they could. The atmosphere was saturated with a lot of excitement with the children jeering and cheering in the cinema halls as their favourite movie stars entertained them on the giant silver screens. The movies they saw included favourites like Beverly Hills Chihuahua, High School Musical 3, Ice Age, Dragon Ball and many more.
“You missed out if you were not here. I had a really great time. I and my friends will always come to Silverbird to see our movies” said young and elated Anita of Galaxy International School.
Kids’ Fun Day is a special day set aside by Silverbird Cinemas to mobilize school children for quality entertainment with fun games and movies. The Day is to become an annual event on the Silverbird Entertainment Calendar. The day is also to give children a unique opportunity to socialize and share ideas while also making new friends that will mature into beneficial relationships.
Mr. Albert Mensah, General Manager of Silverbird, said “we are happy and encouraged about the high patronage of the first Kids’ Day. This is an indication that our children are yearning for platforms such as this. We hope to make the next event bigger and better because Silverbird is all about quality entertainment for all groups including children.
The Silverbird Kids’ Day was made possible by Somotex Ghana Ltd. with support from Indomie Noodles and Coca-Cola.
