Six of the seven former public officials being investigated in the Mabey and Johnson bribery case, have filed a writ against the Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Mr Emile Short.
Lawyer representing Baba Kamara, Samuel Cudjoe, filed the writ of prohibition against the CHRAJ Commissioner on behalf of the other lawyers at the human rights courts on Friday.
Former Health Minister Dr Sipa Yankey was not included.
The lawyers had earlier filed a complaint demanding Justice Emile Short to step aside from future hearings involving their client.
They accuse Justice Short of exhibiting bias in media interview after the preliminary hearings.
Nana Ato Dadzie, lawyer for Ato Quarshie, said “we went to court believing in good faith” that his client would get justice from CHRAJ but “from comments and interviews granted by the commissioner for himself and on behalf of the commission, it is quite clear that he has prejudged or predetermined the matter already so why are we do.”
