Mr Kwasi Appiah, Assistant Coach of the Black Stars, on Sunday stressed the need for all stakeholders to be actively involved in malaria eradication activities in the country.
This, he said, would enable the nation to get more footballers, doctors, engineers and politicians to replace the aged ones.
Mr Appiah said this when a delegation of Add Your Voice Now, a non-governmental organization championing the cause of the Malaria Eradication Programme through Sports (MEPS) called on him.
He said issues concerning malaria eradication were paramount and called for efforts to prevent children, who are the future leaders, from dying of the disease.
Mr Appiah expressed the hope that the systematic monitoring of the advocacy program and evaluation of activities would be carried out to achieve success.
Mr Kwabena Osei Bonsu, Chief Executive of the NGO who led the delegation, said the campaign which, started about two years ago, had taken them to many parts of the country including Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Greater Accra, Volta and Western regions and that the other regions would be covered soon.
He called on political party leaders to engage themselves in malaria control programmes.
