Former Nigerian U-23 international, Endurance Idahor is dead.
The 25-year-old striker died Saturday during a Sudanese premier league match-up between El-Merriekh and Al-Amal following a tackle from a fellow player. After the tackle, the player laid on his back, unable to breathe.
The former Julius Berger striker was immediately rushed to hospital after efforts to revive him failed. The player is said to have passed away inside the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
Players, coaching staff and the 30,000 supporters stood in disbelief as the referee whistled for the end of the match.
