Alhassan Suhuyini, Member of Parliament for Tamale North, has launched the 1Heart Fund in the constituency, disbursing initial interest-free loans to 23 self-supporting women’s groups as part of activities marking Chocolate Day and Valentine’s Day.
The initiative is aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs and strengthening small businesses across the constituency.
In a post on his social media page, Mr Suhuyini described the launch as a successful milestone in his efforts to promote economic inclusion in Tamale North.

“Yesterday, as part of the Chocolate Day/Valentine’s Day celebrations, we successfully launched the 1Heart Fund in the Tamale North Constituency and disbursed initial loans to 23 self-supporting women’s groups,” he stated.
He revealed that over the next three years, the 1Heart Fund will provide interest-free loans to support 5,000 women-owned small enterprises.
According to him, the initiative is designed to ease the financial burden on women entrepreneurs, many of whom struggle to access affordable credit to expand their businesses.
Mr Suhuyini expressed appreciation to those who contributed to the success of the programme.
“I’m personally grateful to the Fund Managers, the hardworking Constituency Executives and well wishers,” he wrote, acknowledging their role in mobilising support and ensuring a smooth rollout of the fund.
The 1Heart Fund is expected to boost micro and small-scale enterprises in Tamale North, particularly among women engaged in trading, food vending and other income-generating ventures.
Beneficiaries are hopeful the interest-free support will enable them to expand operations, increase household incomes and create more opportunities within their communities.
