Ghanaian music collective, SuperJazzClub, have released their long-awaited EP - ‘MONOCHROME RADIO’. Alongside the release comes a focus single, ‘UNO’, featuring UK-based artist, BenjiFlow.
Presenting 5 distinct tracks,‘MONOCHROME RADIO’ is the group’s limitless sonic world where any sound can thrive. It is symbolism of free expression where each song commands structures that are niche as well as conventionally mainstream.
Tagged as a “fusion project”, the EP is the collective's representation of what they think fans’ music library or playlists should sound like in the present paying tribute to to the past. It fuses sounds of mid-tempo sounds of early R&B 2000s with Ghanaian Hiplife. Also incorporated into the tracks are oddment of dancehall and electronic rhythms.

Commenting on what the new EP represents at this stage in their career, SuperJazzClub shared: “This is a step into the major league. The rookie seasons are over. Monochrome Radio is our expression of what we want to turn on the radio and hear but more than that, it is our nod to the past and how the sounds we grew up listening to have shaped our creative outputs as new age African artists planting our feet around the world.”
The release of ‘MONOCHROME RADIO’ follows previously released singles ‘OFF’ and ‘911’. The latter in particular was extolled for its unconventional yet groovy production. Eclectic and eerie in tone, the sensory tale of how karma can manifest was noted for its mixture of dub reggae, hip-hop, soul and new wave.
To mark the arrival of the EP, SuperJazzClub have unveiled ‘UNO’ featuring British artist-producer BenjiFlow as its third single of the year. A synthesis of black-inspired synergies, Benji’s Jamaican heritage seamlessly blends with SuperJazzClub’s Ghanaian flavor to simulate the vibe and ambience of an underground basement party.
After spending the last few years releasing singles and mini-EPs which had tracks including 2022’s ‘MAD’ and 2023’s ‘WICKED’, MONOCHROME RADIO’ marks SuperJazzClub’s first proper project since 2020’s ‘For All The Good Times’ EP.
