The President of the Swiss Confederation, Micheline Calmy-Rey is in the country for a two day state visit at the invitation of President Kufuor.
Mrs. Camly-Rey will hold bilateral talks with President Kufuor on Tuesday afternoon at the Castle, Osu. She will also discuss the Swiss government’s assistance for the country’s financial sector and general budgetary support.
Ghana and Switzerland have had relations spanning over a century with Ghana benefiting from debt cancellation and assistance in the areas of education and health.
Mrs. Camly-Rey will visit the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre and meet with the Swiss business community in Ghana.
In a related development the Italian President Georgio Napolitano has ended his three day visit and is expected to depart Ghana tomorrow.
