The former IBF Bantamweight Champion Joseph Agbeko is intensifying preparation for his much awaited International Boxing Organization World Bantamweight Title bout with Colombian Luis Melendez slated for March 8 at the Accra sports stadium.
The bout will be the maiden promotion put together by Agbeko’s newly-established outfit Fresh King Entertainment and included in the package for the night is a bout between tough talking Emmanuel 'Game Boy' Tagoe and the exciting George 'The Red Tiger' Ashie.
As part of efforts to attract as many boxing fanatics to the Accra Sports Stadium for the bout, spokesperson for the Boxer Eben Noye says team Agbeko is laying out a massive public campaign to get the numbers into the stadium.
"We are currently mounting bill boards and with the help of media houses like JOY FM, we are making headway with publicity. We want all fans to understand that apart from the thrilling ring action on the night , there would be massive entertainment .We need all to be there."
Agbeko has a fight record of 28 wins but has been inactive, after he failed to snatch the IBF and WBC silver bantamweight titles from Mexican-American Abner Mares Martinez in December 2011.
The last time Ghanaian boxing fans witnessed a World title bout of this magnitude in the country dates as far back as December 10, 1988 when the Legendary Azumah Nelson beat Brazilian Sidnel Da Rovere at the Accra Sports Stadium .
