Mrs Valeria Amerkogbe, a member of the Tema District branch of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), would be among the award winners of this year's Teachers' Awards Day ceremony in Koforidua on Tuesday. Mrs Amerkogbe, Chairperson of the Sakumono branch of GNAT, was selected from among 12 teachers, two each from the six districts in the Greater-Accra Region, namely Metro East and West; Tema; Dangme East and West; and Ga districts. Mr Robert Addotey, Tema Municipal Secretary of GNAT, told the Ghana News Agency in Tema on Monday that this was the first time a member in the municipality had won an award from the association. Mr Addotey said the Executives of GNAT in the Municipality were highly honoured by the award, because the good work of one of their members had been recognised. He appealed to members of the association to rally behind its leadership so that collectively they could build a better GNAT. Source: GNA
