The Multimedia Group, in collaboration with Africa AI Consult (Africon), hosted a transformative Artificial Intelligence (AI) workshop on May 9, 2025, at Adansi Travel House.
The workshop sought to equip media professionals with practical skills to harness the power of ChatGPT and other AI tools.
The workshop covered practical applications of AI. This included Content Creation -using ChatGPT for scripting, voiceover preparation, and content ideation; Research and Fact-Checking - streamlining research and fact-checking in real-time; Storytelling: enhancing narrative structures with AI-assisted tools like Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Meta AI, and Claude by Anthropic; Ethics and Responsibility - Understanding the ethical use of AI in journalism and broadcasting; Prompt Engineering - crafting precise prompts using the SCRIBE (Situation, Context, Instructions, Behavior, End results) framework.
Participants found the workshop insightful and empowering, gaining hands-on experience and actionable strategies to enhance their work.
As one participant noted, “The workshop has opened my eyes to the vast possibilities of AI in media.” A tutor also emphasized that “using AI doesn’t mean you’re being lazy.”
The Multimedia Group aims to leverage AI to drive innovation, improve content quality, and increase audience engagement, setting new standards in Ghana’s media industry.
