The Ghana Armed Forces has dismissed reports it is secretly recruiting foot soldiers of the National Democratic Congress into the army.
The allegation was made by the chairman of the New Patriotic Party Jake Obetsebi Lamptey.
According to him, he has picked up information suggesting the phenomenon was going on and urged the com clear on the matter.
He told Joy News there must be transparency in the recruitment process.
But in a reaction, the head of communications for the military Lt. Col Atintande said there is no recruitment going on at the moment at institution.
He explained the institution has a set criteria it follows in its recruitment process, saying, the political affiliations of the applicants are not part of those criteria.
“The military doesn’t know who is NDC or NPP, he said adding, commitment hardwork and qualification are the pre-requisites needed for enlistment.
