The Tema Oil Refinery has suspended some operations as the heavy downpour experienced over the weekend caused extensive damage to its pump station.
This, it says, has affected the supply of Aviation Turbine Kerosene, Residual Fuel oil and premix.
Officials of the Refinery say engineers have switched off the plant to avert any further damage and are working tirelessly to ensure operations at the pump house are restored.
The downpour also destroyed some part of their fence wall leading to its collapse. Public Affairs Manager, Aba Lokko says all is under control to ensure smooth delivery onto the market.
“Delivery of petrol, diesel and LPG to the market is ongoing. Those we have restored and are working and supplying products to the market today were able to that.
“ The only problem we have is the supply of the Aviation Turbine Kerosene, and fuel oil to the industry and premix for the fishing community which we say will be affected for two days.
