Maritzburg United are still to conclude the deal of Yakubu Mohammed despite the Ghana striker appearing to have already settled in at the club.
United have also invited Nigerian forward Dele Olorundane for an assessment.
Mohammed was initially linked with a move to Orlando Pirates but that deal fell through due to fitness issues after coach Roger de Sa told KickOff.com that he only lasted just 30 minutes in his first training session with Bucs.
He has now found himself chasing a contract at Maritzburg while Olorundane – currently playing for Sunshine Stars – is also due for a trial within the next couple of days.
Farook Kadodia, the Maritzburg boss, says they are still yet to complete the signing of Mohammed and are also expecting Olorundane next week.
“Not yet,” says Kadodia when asked about if Mohammed has signed.
“He is still training and we will see how things go this weekend,” he says.
Mohammed has been playing his football at Ashanti Gold where he still has a contract.
Though Kadodia says they are yet to complete the signing of the Ghana forward word from the club’s training ground is that Mohammed has looked the part in being the club’s number 9 going into the new season.
