Health officials at the Tumu District Hospital in the Upper West Region have been demonstrating against the District Chief Executive for causing the only medical doctor there to vacate post.
Alijata Sulemana and her Assembly members are alleged to have publicly pronounced that health officers were not their priority in the district.
This is said to have angered the medical director in the district and doctor of the Tumu District Hospital, Zakari Bukari to leave the area.
One of the demonstrating nurses told Joy News the situation is frustrating.
Meanwhile, Alijata Zakari has dismissed the allegations and accused the demonstrators of mischief.
“This is false allegation. How can a mother who has the district at heart make such a derogatory remark about her,” Ms Zakari said.
The doctor has declined comment on the development.
