Two suspected armed robbers have been arrested for raiding the West Hills Mall in Accra Sunday afternoon.
The attack happened at the Silver Bird Cinema hall of the Mall.
The Business Manager of Silverbird Cinemas, Justice Grant, told Joy News two people were injured in the attack, one of them seriously.
The one who was not seriously injured has been treated and discharged but the other one, according to Mr. Grant, is currently at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital being attended to by doctors.
He said one of two bullets has been retrieved from his body.
"The robbers went to our booth where we do the projections and started shooting sporadically so my staff who was the projectionist in the booth jumped out of one of the windows into the cinema hall and was in a pool of blood and was rushed to the hospital," he explained.
Mr. Grant was unable to tell if Silverbird Cinemas was the only target of the robbery. He said the police would have to determine that.
Joy News' Manasseh Azure Awuni reports things are calm at the mall.
He said it does not even appear that shoppers know of the incident.
The police are however not taking chances as increased numbers of both uniformed and plain clothed police officers are stationed at the mall now.
Citifmonline reports a 28-year-old teacher in military uniform who helped to arrest the two suspected robbers - Steven, a 20-year-old shoemaker and Sulley Jerry, a 24-year-old unemployed - was later found to be an imposter.
Prince Nyarko was consequently arrested too.
