Two New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirants in the primaries held in the Odododiodioo Constituency last April have reaffirmed their support for the successful candidate, Mr Victor Okaikoi. The two contestants, Niibi Ayibonte, former Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency and Shiehk Ahmed Nii Annan Tackie, popularly known as John Paper, made the affirmation at a joint meeting of the council of patrons, the constituency executives and the council of elders. The constituency executive members were represented at the meeting by the Chairman, Mr Creech Jones and the secretary, Mr Raymond Tetteh. The meeting, held in an atmosphere of camaraderie, was chaired by Mr. R.O. Solomon; a former Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea and was attended by Messrs Benjamin Ofori; Vice-Chairman of the Council of Patrons, Sefa Boateng; Co-ordinator of the council and Madam Comfort Nyarko; a Member of the Council of Elders. Niibi Ayibonte expressed his readiness to put his vast experience in campaigning in the Odododiodioo Constituency at the disposal of Mr. Okaikoi. Sheihk Ahmed Nii Annan Tackie, who is a former organiser of the NPP in the constituency, assured the candidate of his commitment to work for grass-roots support for a convincing victory for the NPP candidate. Mr Okaikoi embraced the gesture of the other aspirants, noting that with unity, oneness of purpose and good planning, the Odododiodioo NPP was certain to take back the parliamentary seat and contribute meaningfully towards Nana Akufo-Addo’s expected resounding victory in 2012. Mr Victor Okaikoi said he was convinced that the times foretell victory for the NPP in the 2012 elections and that this could be achieved not only because of the NDC’s manifest failure to deliver on its election promises, but also on the good record of the NPP in its eight years’ management of the economy from 2001 to 2008, as well as Nana Akufo-Addo’s leadership qualities and his clear vision for the improvement of the lot of the average Ghanaian.
