The High Court in Tamale has convicted two women; Hajia Serina Mohammed and Latifa Bumaye for manslaughter and sentenced them to various prison terms.
The two who were sentenced on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 were convicted of attacking and killing 90-year-old Akua Denteh at Kafaba in the Savannah Region on suspicion of being a witch.
Hajia Serina Mohammed was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment on each of the two counts, while Latifa Bumaye was also sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment on each of the 2 counts to run concurrently.
