Unilever Ghana is set to spread smiles across the nation once more with the official launch of the next phase of Pepsodent Charcoal toothpaste. Under the theme, “Crafting Smiles,” the brand interacted with consumers during an immersive experience titled “Black and White Timeline” at Diaspora Dome, University of Ghana, in a celebration of crafts and smiles.
The launch event was a vibrant celebration of creativity and community, bringing together hundreds of participants and influencers. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in interactive arts and crafts workshops and DIY sessions.
In the evening, the celebration turned into an electrifying concert featuring performances by award-winning artistes; Sarkodie and Black Sherif, ensuring a memorable experience for all.
“We are excited to share this new chapter of Pepsodent Charcoal with the public,” said Glenn Abraham-Ampomah, Brand Manager for Pepsodent. “The ‘Crafting Smiles’ theme perfectly demonstrates our commitment to not just oral hygiene, but to empowering individuals with the confidence to express themselves fully. And at this event, our consumers were able to experience the joy of crafting, music, and brilliant smiles, showing that we are serious about that.”
The Black and White Timeline event brought various influencers across various industries, assisting patrons to try their hands at each craft: Akua (Wudu), Chrystal Kwame-Aryee, Cookie XX, Miss Enny, Teiya Dahamani, and Ginger (Fashion – Bags); ThreeTwentyOne, Natives of the Hood, Tagor, Ginger, Kojo Junior, KalyJay, Miss Enny, Dancegod, Danny GFC, Asiedu Mends, and Code Micky-T (Fashion – Sweatshirts, T-Shirts); Bright Ackwerh, Enil Art, and Albert (Pencil Art); Faith Concept, Teiya Dahamani, and Chrystal Kwame-Aryee (Pottery); Annabel (Tattoo); and Marian Kuffour and Akrobeto (Canvas Art).

This public relaunch event followed an internal unveiling on Thursday, 12th June at Unilever headquarters in Tema, where Unilever Ghana’s Managing Director, Chris Wulff-Caesar, rallied staff around the brand’s renewed purpose. Speaking at the internal gathering, Mr. Wulff-Caesar emphasised the impact of a smile: “‘Crafting Smiles’ is not just some catchy phrase that our clever marketing people dreamt up. It is a promise that we’re making to Ghanaians. What makes Pepsodent Charcoal stand tall is this promise that we will continue to help them light up that natural, radiant smile they desire, and that so many of us have invested time and brainpower into helping them achieve. It’s also a promise to ourselves, as a team, that we will continue to put our heart and soul into delivering products that genuinely make a difference.” Pepsodent Charcoal is renowned for its unique blend of activated charcoal and zesty lemon, continuing to deliver on its promise of crafting smiles by removing stains and whitening teeth. It has an enhanced focus on fostering the confidence that comes with a naturally bright and healthy smile. This relaunch signifies a deeper connection with consumers, inviting them to embrace their smiles as a reflection of their inner craft.
