Some 12 people have been injured in an armed attack at a Forex Bureau at Kaneshie, Accra.
Four suspected robbers entered the Bext Nascent Forex Bureau at Pamprom in Kaneshie at about 2pm Wednesday and demanded the staff release all foreign currencies.
While they made their escape, a woman raised alarm at the densely populated business district. The robbers fired sporadic shots to deter any heroic attempts to capture them.
One person who was hit by the gun shot and was initially feared dead survived the attack, Police have said.
The armed robbers, including a woman bolted with the money while some traders and hawkers run after them screaming 'thieves', 'thieves'. They gunmen turned and shot at the people who run after them, a witness told Myjoyonline’s Edwin Appiah.
They used the Royal House Chapel as an escape route.

A police officer stationed at the State Insurance Company located next to the church was brave enough to shoot one of the suspects while he tried to scale a 9-foot wall. Another was also over-powered and arrested.
Two others including the woman managed to escape.
The suspects said to be in their early 20s have been sent to the Police Hospital for treatment. One sustained a gun shot wound in his waist.
One of the robbers shot a security man. He was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment.
